"Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true."

Uncle Noah, I grew up in a catholic school and truly believed in GOD most of my life. However, in 1999 I gave birth to a stillborn son and when I buried him I buried all my faith. Recently though my life has been great and I have overcome MANY hardships. My belief is that GOD is watching and never gave up hope on me. I am searching through friends on a church in the area to start taking my children to. Also I have recently started homeschooling and the request of my children is to incorporate Bible study in our lesson plan. I am embarrassed to admit I do not even know where to begin. I was hoping you could give me some advice and direction. Thank you so very much.
I do not know where you live. If you will send your zip code to cvalentine@nts-online.net, I will find a good church in your area. Your information will not be shared. I will provide the information to you and you will have to contact them.
Many families are studying the Bible through childrensbiblestudy.com. We offer textual and topical studies including "How do we know the Bible is true?"

I teach a class with year olds and we are studying the 23rd Psalm. Would you have any material on this subject? Thank you for the work you are doing?
We do not have not yet developed material on the Psalms. I do not know of any material specifically for young people. We do have an outline of the book of Old Testament Outlines in childrensbiblestudy.com that might be helpful.

I would like you to email me as much bible material as you can, please.

Go to childrensbiblestudy.com. It is our free Bible study site. You will find approximately 4,000 pages of interesting, challenging Bible study.

Actually it is a question, please can you help me and my friend? We are in a bit of a dilemma, we are starting bible classes for k-6 grade and we have no idea in what to teach the children. I just want you to help me out if that is possible. Thank You!
I do not know how much your class knows, but a good place to start is in Genesis telling the major stories...creation, Cain & Abel, Tower of Babel, Noah, Abraham, etc. in chronological order. This gives your students a sense of Bible history and a basis for learning how God deals with people (his love and justice). Go to the Study of Bible Books on our childrensbiblestudy.com home page menu. This link will help you study the stories and provide all kinds of activities.
It is great that you want to teach young girls. Teach them the Biblical facts...and show them the Love of God.
You will do well.

Once Saved, Always Saved

Jesus promised He will never leave us. Jesus could not say this if there was even a chance of losing our salvation."...for he hath said, I WILL NEVER LEAVE THEE, nor forsake thee." (Hebrews 13:5) "...and, lo, I am with you ALWAYS, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (Matthew 28:20)
Hebrews 13:5- Keep reading (V. 9)..."Do not be carried away by strange teachings." Why would there be a warning if they could not be carried away from their faith?
Matthew 28:20- Why would they be told to teach folk to obey? What would happen if they did not obey?
We already HAVE eternal life. When the Bible speaks of possessing eternal life, it speaks in the present tense (hath, have, etc.) — SOMETHING WE ALREADY HAVE! If we had to work or endure to keep our salvation, this could not be true. "He that believeth on the Son HATH EVERLASTING LIFE:.. ." (John 3:36) "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE,..." (1 John 5:13) "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, HATH EVERLASTING LIFE,. . ." (John 5:24)
Jesus will NOT cast you out "... him that cometh to me I WILL IN NO WISE CAST OUT." (John 6:37)
We are COMPLETE in Jesus Christ "And ye are COMPLETE IN HIM, which is the head of all principality and power:" (Colossians 2:10)
John 3:26- This is a statement of what happens when folk believe in Jesus...not an issue of falling away after believing.
I John 5:13- Keep reading. (v. 16) John warns them about a sin that leads to death. How can this be, if there is no spiritual death after salvation. Then John warns them to away from idols. (v.21) What would happen if they went back to worshipping idols?
John 5:24 and 6:37- These verses are motivation to those who are not yet saved.
Colossians 2:10- Back up 2 verses. These folk were warned not to be led away and taken captive again. Why this warning if they could never be taken captive to sin again? In v. 19 some were disconnected to the head (Jesus). To be disconnected means a person is dead...there is no power source. How can one be disconnected unless he/she was once connected?
We are PERFECTED FOR EVER We are "perfected for ever" by Jesus Christ. How could the Lord say such a bold statement if we had to earn or keep our salvation? "By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ ONCE FOR ALL... For by one offering he hath PERFECTED FOR EVER them that are sanctified." (Hebrews 10:10,14)
Hebrews 10:10, 14- Keep reading (vs. 26,27) If a person kept on sinning he/she faced judgment and raging fire (not salvation terms). Why would the Hebrew writer encourage the readers to persevere (vs.35-39) if there was no possibility of falling? What would happen if they did not persevere?
We are PRESERVED in Christ Jesus "Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and PRESERVED IN JESUS CHRIST, and called:" (Jude 1) "And THE LORD...WILL PRESERVE ME unto his heavenly kingdom:..." (2 Timothy 4:18)
Jude 1- Keep reading (v. 21). Why would Jude warn these Christians to keep themselves in God's love, if there was no possibility of getting out of God's love. What does it mean in v. 24..."to him who is able to keep you from falling"? How can one fall, if it is impossible to fall?
II Timothy 4:18- Why would it be necessary to rescue these believers from evil attacks...if they could not fall?
Passages conveniently not mentioned above:
Galatians 5:4...Some are alienated from Christ and fall away from grace. How can a person be alienated or fall away from something to which they have never been connected?
II Peter 3:17...I cannot fall from my secure position unless I have at one time been secure.
Hebrews 3:6...Why is this warning to hold on if there is no possibility of being disconnected?
Hebrews 3:14...Why does the Hebrew writer tell folk to hold firmly until the end...if there is no possibility of being lost?
II Peter 2:20-22...Some say these people were never believers in the first place. The text says they had escaped the corruption of the world...and were once again entangled. There is only one way to escape the corruption of the world...through the blood of Jesus. Their fate was worse than before they escaped. They are described as dogs returning to their own vomit and pigs going back to their filthiness.

Challenge/Question

What does Paul mean in I Timothy 5:6 where he says "She that giveth herself to pleasure is dead while she liveth." Does Death not always have to be literal?
Answer
Verse 5 explains verse 6...a discussion of life as a Christian. Paul is talking about spiritual death?
